Brief description of what services your organisation offers
The Carers Centre provides support to all unpaid carers over 18. It is open Monday to Thursday 9AM-5PM, Friday 9AM-4.30PM and Saturdays 10AM-2PM for the Carers Café. Carers may phone, drop in, send an email or Facebook message if they want to get in touch.
Where the service is based
117 Orchard Rd, Southsea, PO4 0AD
What the organisation provides
The Carers Centre provides information and advice tailored to the individual carer, relevant to them and their family. There are no forms to fill in, instead, you’ll speak to a member of staff about what matters to you, the support you provide, and what could make your life a bit easier. The Carers Centre staff may put some plans in place in case there’s an emergency and you’re unable to continue caring. If you are not able to call or drop in during the week you may visit the centre on Saturday. We may communicate via FB messenger or text you if you prefer.

Who can access the service
Anyone who is looking after a family member, friend or a neighbour in an unpaid capacity can access support from the Carers Centre. They do not need formal diagnosis, carers don’t need to claim carers allowance to contact the service.
Expected outcomes for children and young people and their families accessing your services
The service is carer led, so carers are able to identify their own needs giving the service the opportunity to work with them to find solutions to meet those needs. The aim of the service is to support carers to have a better quality of life, maintain their caring role and fulfil their potential.
How can this service be accessed?
Carers can contact the centre directly or any professional can make a referral with the carer’s consent.
Young carers
The support for young carers and young adult carers age 5-25 is provided by Young Carers Team. They offer weekly groups, half term and holiday outings, games and variety of activities. Further information can be found by clicking here
