Introducing the SEND&AP Change Partnership Programme
Exciting news about Portsmouth’s involvement in the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities & Alternative Provision (SEND&AP) Improvement Plan
Last year, the Department for Education (DfE) shared the government’s Special Educational Needs and Disabilities & Alternative Provision (SEND&AP) Improvement Plan designed to improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
We are really pleased to have been chosen as Change Programme Partners, working with Brighton & Hove, East Sussex and West Sussex. It is exciting to be testing the proposals in the SEND & AP Improvement Plan and we are getting started now.
Partnerships like ours have been set up in nine regions across the country and the learning will be fed back to the DfE. We will be working with parent carer forums and other partners. We are being supported by an organisation called REACh. There is more information about REACh in the links below.
We will keep you up to date with our progress on the Local Offer – so that you know what we have been asked to test, and what we are learning. There’ll be opportunities to provide your views as we start on different areas of the programme.
