Day services can be offered through a variety of ways. This could include employing a personal assistant or using day centres.

To be eligible for day services you have to be assessed as having an eligible need for them and meet the National Minimum Eligibility Threshold as set out in the Care Act 2014.Click on one of the boxes below to find out more about the different day services offered in Portsmouth.

How does a young person access day services?

Day Services are assessed through Adult Social Care in Portsmouth. You will need to be allocated a worker from the service who will complete the assessment.

After the assessment you will be told how many hours of support you are entitled to and given the options on how best to meet these needs. Direct Payments will also be discussed and may be something you are interested in.

If you are eligible for day services you will be given a factsheet explaining the different options.

The helpdesk is open 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday, and 8.30am to 4.30pm on Friday.
