Youth Club for young people aged 11 – 25 with a Learning Difficulty or Disability
Brief description of what services your organisation offers
We offer provision two evenings a week Wednesday and Thursday’s at Charles Dickens Youth Centre, Lake Road. We provide a variety of activities to include cooking, arts and crafts, sport, table tennis, pool, and discussion groups. Young people are free to come and go as they please. Opening times are 6.30 – 8.30pm on a Wednesday and 6.00 – 8:30pm on a Thursday.
What the organisation provides?
We offer young people a warm welcoming environment with qualified staff that have excellent listening skills and are good at building relationships and engaging with young people on their agenda. Fun activities as mentioned above, open access and voluntary engagement, young people are fee to come and go as they please.
Who can access the club?
This club can be accessed by children and young people aged 11-25 by self-referring by just turning up to a session and parents/carers can bring their young people along. There is a registration form to complete on arrival.
Expected outcomes for children and young people and their families accessing your services
We expect young people to have fun, make friends, maybe learn a new skills, but the main emphasis will be that they enjoyed the experience.
