Home-Start Portsmouth

Home-Start Portsmouth is a local family support charity. We are here to enable parents in Portsmouth to be the best parents they can be for their children by offering them friendship, mentoring and practical help through volunteer support in their homes, family groups in the community, and support within the Portsmouth Family Hubs.

Home-Start volunteers visit families at home each week, supporting parents in situations as diverse as isolation, bereavement, multiple births, illness, disability or who are just finding parenting a struggle. They provide non-judgemental practical and emotional support and help build the family’s confidence and ability to cope.

Families can receive support in groups, either stay & play or parenting groups to give you the confidence and tools to best cope with emotions and behaviours, antenatal and postnatal groups, perinatal support, targeted dads support, school readiness groups and home support, SEND support and groups, expert SEND support from Portsmouth Parent Voice, and be involved in having a voice in this city through our parent board.
