Enable Ability Wheelchair Basketball
Wheelchair basketball is a fun packed team sport, and a great chance to engage in some friendly competition and develop personal fitness in probably the most inclusive group activity in Portsmouth.
Is it suitable for anyone?
It’s for anyone aged 8 or over with any kind of disability. You are also welcome to bring friends and siblings who do not have a disability.
What days/times do you start and finish?
The club runs every Wednesday. It has two sessions – beginners 5-6pm and for more experienced players 6-7.30pm. We understand that the club runs late so people can leave early if they need to.
Where is it?
Portchester Community School, White Hart Lane, Portchester, Hampshire, PO16 9BD. In the sports hall, if you come in through reception the lady there will tell you where it is.
How do you get there?
You can get a train to Portchester Station and then it is a 10 min walk to the school.
What is the cost to join?
It’s £4 per session.
What should we expect from the staff?
The staff members are friendly and welcoming and offer guidance and support to everyone. There is one female coach, a male coach and some volunteers to help too. Carers are also welcome if people need extra support with personal care.
The staff will explain the rules to each game clearly and can offer guidance throughout the game.
Is the group accessible to everyone?

Are there refreshments provided for the group?
There is a water fountain outside the sports hall. Please bring a drink with you to this session.
