Supporting Children and Young People in your settings

The majority of children and young people with special educational needs will have their needs met within a mainstream education setting.

This section of the Local Offer website aims to support those working with children and young people, to identify needs early and put support in place as soon as possible.

Portsmouth City Council is a needs led city and this means that any provision or support should be provided in line with the needs of a child or young person and is not dependent on any formal diagnosis.

What does Inclusion mean in Portsmouth City?

We’ve worked closely with young people, parents, carers and professionals in Portsmouth to agree what inclusion means to people in our city.
