CAMHS
We continue to accept and process referrals to all the teams with in CAMHS this includes: Single point of Access (SPA), Extended Team, CAMHS LAC team and CAMHS LD team. The SPA team continue to offer a Duty service and take calls from professionals, parents and young people.
We are no longer able to offer as many face to face appointments as we are following the Government guidance on social distancing. We continue to offer face to face for some crisis cases if this cannot be completed by telephone and for reviews related to anorexia and medication which require physical checks such as weight and height.
The CAMHS Liaison service has started. The service hours are 9am until 10pm. This is to assess young people who self- harm.
We are offering telephone contact for the Drop in for young people age 13-18 on Thursdays between 5 and 7. They can still phone CAMHS between 9 and 5 do not need to wait for the out of hours service.
Staff continue to maintain telephone contact with all the families on their case load.
We are able to offer some new appointment s but acknowledge some children, young people and their families would rather wait for a face to face appointment rather than an appointment by phone or video.

0300 123 6632 – This is the number for CAMHS reception. The administration team can transfer the calls to the SPA team where the Duty team operate from.
Families can ask to be put through to the staff member working with them or the team working with them if they have already been seen and allocated a staff member to work with
Other key information
- A young person or child needs to be accompanied by 1 adult for any appointment offered face to face ( we are not offering group or appointments for all family members)
- Personal protective equipment such as masks, gloves and aprons will be worn by staff for face to face contact
- We are checking prescriptions daily. These are then updated by one of the Doctors in the team or Nurse prescribers. CAMHS staff are hand delivering prescriptions to the families or an agreed pharmacy.
