Meeting the needs of children with SEND in Portsmouth is dependent on ensuring that professionals across the children’s workforce , the wider public service workforce and the wider community, have the right skills, knowledge and competencies to work with children with SEND, indentify need, meet need and secure improved outcomes.

The Portsmouth SEND strategy includes a key priority around Neurodiversity (ND). The Neurodiversity Skills and Competencies Framework is designed to ensure we are able to describe the skills, knowledge and competencies of a wide range of people who come into contact with ND children and their families. It enables us to co-produce and deliver the right communications, information, training and professional development opportunities for a wide range of people to make the city a better place to be for ND children and young people.

We need your input and views on this document to ensure it can support meeting the needs of children and families in the city.

Due to limited space, please email to reserve your place.
