Crabbing Fun Day & Beach Clean – Enable Ability Teenage project

Portchester Castle

Contact the organiser : 023 9267 1846

Based on last year’s success, Angling Spirit are kind enough to host another public event where all equipment will be provided with trained angling coaches to guide our young people to catch the best crabs around the shores of Portchester Castle at high tide. If you are new to any form of crabbing or fishing, this will be the best opportunity to learn. No crabs will be hurt in the process and will be returned to their natural habitats. Once you have caught some crabs, join us on a short walk along the shores of Portchester to ensure the beach of Portchester is
clear of rubbish so no wildlife can be harmed by irresponsible people dropping their rubbish. Litter pickers and buckets will be provided.

Please bring a drink and dress depending on the weather on the day – there will be long durations of time outside.

Limited wheelchair accessibility.

Portsmouth Teenage Project is run by Enable Ability and is for young people aged 13-17 years old living in Portsmouth with a physical and/or mild-moderate learning disability, or additional special need. The Project aims to provide young people with the opportunity to engage in a variety of planned recreational, social and sporting activities as part of a group setting. Referral to the project should be made to James Donougher.
