Carers Discovery Event
Portsmouth Central Library, Menuhin room (3rd Floor)

We want to understand how services could work better for carers – that’s all services, not just specialist services for carers.
We last wrote a strategy for carers in 2015 – and the world has moved on since then. That’s why we’re starting a conversation with carers to find out more about the challenges they face and what support would make the most difference.
As well as asking you about the support you need we also want to hear how we can best explain our plan for carers in Portsmouth – a strategy, an action plan, a commitment? We want carers to feel empowered to hold us to account if we aren’t getting it right, so people have a genuine influence on the way things work.
Please drop in to one of our engagement events. You will have the chance to tell us what it is like to be a carer in Portsmouth.
We are running this event at two venues. You can come to either:
• Tuesday 11 February 10am-2pm at Cosham Baptist Church PO6 2QZ
• Friday 21 February 10am-2pm at Portsmouth Central Library, Menuhin room (3rd Floor)
For enquiries and other ways to share your experience of caring contact Portsmouth Carers Centre on 02392 851 864 or firstname.lastname@example.org
There will be people at the event for you to talk to from Portsmouth City Council, Solent NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospital Trust.
As well as listening to you they will also be able to give you advice on where to go for support if you need any now.
Light lunch and refreshments will be provided
Reasonable travel costs can be reclaimed.
Those events are the start of a new programme of surveys, events, conversations and other methods of hearing from carers.
We want to hear your views, experiences and priorities to help shape what services for carers look like in the future.
